. . . was successful. She finally took her first 8 hour car trip and did fine, she didn't sleep but wasn't panicky and whiny at all. Now we are just trying to get the current 2 dogs in the house I just moved into to accept my dog and all will be well. I am on 2 hours of sleep and I want to go to bed but I think a beer is in order first while I catch up on watching some Arrow and marvel at the fact I now have my dog living with me again after 18 long months of being separated. . .

Too lazy to post pictures need beer and sleep.

That's awesome. Our dog was traumatized by car rides before we adopted him, and we've been gradually working on getting him acclimated to trips. He's progressed from "oh hell no, I don't want to get into that contraption" to "well, okay, if you guys are going I'd rather go along even if I'm not thrilled with the idea."

Glad you have your canine friend with you after all that time. She's probably glad too. And it sounds like she's going to be a good road trip companion.

She loves riding in my Miata. This was just her first really long road trip. Mrs. Buttersworth loves going topless. . . It really is quite funny because you can see how happy she gets when you get her in a convertible with the top down and start driving. It must be the magic that makes the world smell that much more intense that she loves.

Good luck on getting your dog acclimated to car rides. Sounds like you've made progress so far! Keep it up as we all should have good road dogs.
